Working with the physical body through basic yoga poses creates a more grounded experience, creates strength, flexibility, balance and endurance.
Beyond this, stuck energies such as fat, lymph, blood, thick muscle, can begin to heat up, move, discharge or cleanse.
Body and Mind come into relationship in this practice. When practicing a yoga pose, Attention & Imagination are directing specific actions and movements of the body. This summons a strong level of Concentration. One cannot be engaged in stressful thinking / worry patterns when Mind & Body are focused in this way. One feels better via some time on the mat, concentrated, moving in new ways, developing physical alignment. The Physical Body directly translates, communicates, transmits to the Emotional and Mental/Intellecutal Bodies. These Bodies are interconnected and always affect one another.
There are many aspects to health, healing and the art of optimal Self Care. Yoga asana being one of these, for which I am a trained teacher and dedicated practitioner, having a consistent yoga practice since 1994.
